St. Cloud man faces four felony domestic assault charges in beating of pregnant woman

St. Cloud Times - 9/25/2021

Sep. 26—ST. CLOUD — A St. Cloud man faces four felony charges of domestic assault for allegedly beating, strangling and threatening to kill a pregnant woman Thursday, according to a complaint filed in Stearns County court.

Marshall Adrian Pack, 44, faces two charges of felony domestic assault, a felony charge of domestic assault by strangulation and a felony charge for threats of violence.

According to the complaint against him, St. Cloud Police were dispatched to the 800 block of 10th Avenue North Thursday on a report of a domestic assault in progress after a woman called her friend to ask police for help.

The woman at the scene told police Pack choked her, threatened to kill her and slammed her head into the wall.

She told police when she was trying to sleep Pack grabbed her by the throat and neck area and squeezed. The woman said she had difficulty breathing and was unable to yell, the complaint said.

She said Pack then told her he was going to kill her and that he was tired of her being so difficult. He then grabbed her by her lower jaw and chin area and forced her head to hit the wall several times, she told police. The woman said the assault caused her pain and she was afraid he was trying to kill her.

The woman told police she was able to convince Pack to stop because she is currently pregnant. Pack then went to the dresser to grab something, and the woman said she was concerned the item was a gun he had taken from her a week prior, the complaint said.

Pack then forced the woman to go downstairs and at one point forced her down on her knees, the complaint said. The woman said she pleaded with Pack to not assault her further due to her pregnancy and said Pack continued to threaten to kill her.

After he told her to get up and get his car keys he assaulted her again, she told police. The woman said she got the keys and quickly called a friend to tell her she needed help so the friend could call police.

Pack told police the two were arguing the night before about his unfaithfulness and said he attempted to wake the woman up so he could get his car keys. Pack told police the only time he touched the woman was when he rolled her over to wake her up, the complaint said. Pack denied assaulting the woman.

Pack was previously convicted of felony domestic assault in Stearns County in December 2015. He was also convicted of violating a felony domestic abuse no contact order in December 2015.

He is currently held at the Stearns County jail.
