Patients evacuated during HVAC fire at Falkville nursing home

Apr. 23—Second-floor patients at Falkville Health and Rehab Center were evacuated early Tuesday as firefighters responded to an HVAC fire, according to Falkville Fire & Rescue.

Responders from Falkville and other local agencies were dispatched to the Center, located at 10 W. 3rd Street, at around 2:20 a.m. There, firefighters said they found moderate smoke in the central nurses' station on the second floor.

Patients were evacuated from the second floor but remained at the facility, according to Falkville Fire Chief Tyler Tucker. No injuries were reported.
