Coronavirus tracker: California reported 1,571 new cases and 40 new deaths as of June 7

Jun. 8—In California, 1,571 new cases of the coronavirus were reported Monday, June 7, according to end-of-day totals on public health websites, bringing the total number of cases so far to 3,768,753.

There were 40 new deaths reported statewide Monday, for a total of 62,745 people who have died from COVID-19.

The state reported 40 fewer hospitalizations from the previous day, bringing the number of hospitalizations of those infected with the coronavirus to 1,278.

According to the California Department of Public Health, 38 million vaccine doses have been administered in the state and 44.4% of residents were fully vaccinated as of Monday.
